Counselling room

I work remotely, both online, and by phone. However if you are looking for face-to-face sessions it can be helpful to get an idea of the space and what to expect before hand, so Below are some pictures to let you know what my room mostly looks like.

I aim for the room to be cosy and comfortable. A safe and comforting space appropriate for the work we may do together. I’ve decorated the walls with various art work, mostly by local artists, relating to the Sea and the coast. I named my business “seaside Counselling” as I personally find the sea very calming, and having always lived by the sea, I cannot imagine living anywhere else. I also find its rich with metaphor to explain some of our more complex feelings and process. The window in the room overlooks Margate’s famous Theatre Royal.

Accessibility: The room is located on a landing up a short flight of stairs. From Street level to Counselling room there are approximately 14 steps, most of which do have a hand rail on at least one side. I recognise this is not ideal for some mobility issues, and so if this is an issue, I would mostly look at working online together where appropriate.

Location and Transport: My counselling room is located close to central Margate and Cecil square.

By Car/Parking: There is on-street Pay & Display parking, and free (1hr) parking very close by on the adjacent roads. There is Pay & Display around Hawley square to the rear of the building. There is also a Large Multi-storey Pay & Display car park one road away by the Morrisons Supermarket.

By Bus: There is a bus stop on this road for the Number 34 bus. Also All other bus routes stop at Cecil square, and are about a 2 Minute walk away.

By Train: Margate is the nearest train station, which is approximately a 14 min walk.

Seaside Counselling is the name of my private practice, offering 1-2-1 Therapy and counselling, and in the future will offer other services too such as clinical supervision.

Seaside Counselling offers humanistic talking therapies pulling from theories such as Gestalt, Person Centred Theory and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), utilising CBT techniques and Creative methods to explore it from your unique experience.

My aim is to come alongside you, and help you explore and understand whatever is on your mind.
Walk through it with you, and see how you can better understand what’s troubling you, connect with uncertain feelings, and discover new choices to move forward.
